Black River High School/Middle School . . .
stands as a tribute to the dedicated men and women who settled Ludlow and the surrounding area. The first school house was erected in 1801. In 1834, Black River Academy was conceived as “a seminary of learning” and opened one year later. Calvin Coolidge, our 30th President, graduated from the academy in 1890. In 1938, the current facility was built and today Black River High School continues the tradition of commitment to our young people, our community and our nation.
