History Project
2004-2005 History Day
This years' History Day students are hard at work researching topics related to the 2004-2005 theme "Communication in History". Seventeen students in grades 7-12 are involved in the program. All of them spend a day at UVM doing research and have been busy locating other sources, both secondary and primary.Topics this year include:
- pigeons in war
- protest songs of the 60's
- the pony express
- Martin Luther King and Malcolm X
- tobacco advertising and teens
- horror films as mirroring concerns of society
- Civil War letters of Vermonters
- the myth of Coolidge as "Silent Cal"
- the use of posters during World War II
