Look at these great moves!!!!
| Black River vs Green Mountain 10/03 T 1 – 1 The Black River Middle School boys soccer team played under the lights Wednesday night against the strong Green Mountain Team. Black River had played them once before, coming out on the losing end 1 – 2 in the BR Middle School tourney. Black River was poised to turn the tide and came out strong and aggressive on the field. The defense of Jared Harlow, Newt Rose & Hunter Hupp were up for the task, shutting down the GM offense. Jesse Gillette was very strong in the goal and stopped many hard GM shots. Noah Schmidt played a strong stopper position working well with the mid-field of Riley Brown, Mike Ricci & Quinn Trainer. After threatening several times the front line finally broke through with a nice goal. J. Michael McDermott, Vincent Guerra, Jeff Lienhard kept knocking. It wasn’t until Noah Schmidt had a nice cross in front of the GM goal and Brandon Stevens hit it home for the BR goal. Everyone gave Brandon the big high five after he scored his 1st career Middle School goal. Great job to the team. |
| Black River vs Flood Brook 10/5 L 0-3 The Black River Boys remembered what it felt like playing the Flood Brook team earlier in the season. They remembered the feeling of giving up 7 goals and vowed to not let that happen again. They were true to their word and played much better against a talented Londonderry team. The midfield of Riley Brown, Mike Ricci & J. Michael McDermott worked very well with the defense corp and kept Flood Brook at bay. Jesse Gillette had another good night in goal. He was supported by defenders, Hunter Hupp, Nick Ciufo & Newt Rose. Jared Harlow at Sweeper and Noah Schmidt at Stopper worked well together and stopped many threats. Noah made many offensive runs with the help of Quinn Trainer distributing. Jeffrey Linehard was a threat on the front line with help from Vincent Guerra & Brandon Stevens. While the boys weren’t able to put the ball in the net, there were many chances. Another aggressive hard working game for the Ludlow team. |
